The Little Ladybirds

Separate Baby Room

A specialist six place baby room for our youngest babies that provides a home from home environment with plenty of comfy chairs for feeding and cuddles. This is a lovely calm and tranquil room that encourages babies to develop and progress. There is direct access to the play garden. Practitioners monitor the babies' development which is recorded in a daily home to nursery diary.

The Bumble Bees

This room provides our older babies with the space and resources to help them on to their feet. A wide range of stimulating activities is provided every day ranging from messy play through to story time. The room has direct access to two outside play areas at the back and front of the building.

The Caterpillar Crew

Children enter the Caterpillar room at about the time of their 2nd birthday. At this age children are learning about independence, so the Early Years Practitioners focus on the children's desire to explore and experiment helping them to progress and develop their individual interests. They encourage the children to extend their language and vocabulary through a range of activities including circle time, rhymes and songs as well as simple games. We provide help and support to parents that are ready for their little ones to start potty training and our bathroom area accommodates all stages of toileting needs.

The Butterfly Bunch

This room helps children to prepare for the hustle and bustle of Pre-school. Practitioners begin to introduce more focussed and structured activities whilst encouraging children to use their imaginations and follow their own ideas. They stay in the Butterfly bunch until they are ready to move on to the next stage of their learning adventure in the pre-school, the Dragonflies Den.

The Dragonfly Den

Pre-School

A purpose built pre-school with free flow to the outside garden and vegetable patch. During their stay in the Dragonflies Den, Practitioners make sure that the children are ready for school in the September after their 4th birthday. The main room is zoned into areas that correspond with the outcomes of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. The quiet room provides a chill out zone that includes a book corner, IT area and sensory lights. The garden includes a bark area for climbing and an all-weather covered area for outside activities all year round.
